Use it when you want a fast answer about whether your plan includes a feature, what you'd unlock by upgrading, or what's restricted on Free and legacy plans. The plans covered here are: Free, Starter, Growth, Scale, legacy plans (Starter, Growth, Advanced, Enterprise started before July 1, 2025).
Note: Some Scale-only features such as Custom Analytics and Social Inbox can be previewed inside Later by users on lower plans, but the underlying functionality is locked until you upgrade.
How to Read This Article
Each section below covers one product area. Within each section, features are listed in a table with these columns:
- Feature: the feature name, matching what you see in Later
- Free, Starter, Growth, Scale: ✔ means included, ✖ means not available, and a short note means included with a limit or condition
- Notes: anything that changes the answer, such as profile-type requirements or platform restrictions
- Article: the help article that covers how to use the feature
A few terms used throughout:
- Current plans: Starter, Growth, and Scale plans started on or after July 1, 2025
- Legacy plans: Basic, Starter, Growth, Advanced, or Enterprise plans started before July 1, 2025 (these have different feature availability and may need to upgrade to access current features)
- Current paid plans: Starter, Growth, and Scale, but not Free
- Add-ons: extra Social Sets, users, or AI credits you can purchase on Growth and Scale plans (desktop sign-ups only)

Legacy Plans
If you signed up for Starter, Growth, Advanced, or Enterprise before July 1, 2025, you're on a legacy plan and your feature availability may not match what's described above. The most common differences:
- Social Inbox: legacy plans may not include Social Inbox even on Growth-tier plans. Upgrade to a current plan to access it.
- Custom Analytics: legacy Scale plans may need to be upgraded to access Custom Analytics. If you're on a legacy Scale plan and don't see it, reach out to our team.
- Analytics time frames: legacy Starter is limited to 3 months and legacy Growth/Advanced to 1 year of Instagram analytics, regardless of platform.
- Brand DNA and Social Listening Topics: these features are only available on the Enterprise (legacy) plan. They're not available on any current plan.
- Advanced plan: the Advanced tier no longer exists on current plans. The closest current equivalent is Scale.
To check whether you're on a legacy plan, go to Settings > Subscription. If you'd like to switch to a current plan, see Change Your Later Plan.
Limitations and Plan Availability
Plan information in this article applies to Later Social plans purchased on or after July 1, 2025 through Later for desktop. A few additional rules to keep in mind:
- iOS subscriptions: if you signed up through Later's iOS app, your subscription is handled by Apple. Plan add-ons (extra Social Sets, users, AI credits) are not available for iOS purchases.
- Desktop sign-ups required for add-ons: to purchase Social Set, user, or credit add-ons, you need to sign up on desktop at app.later.com.
- In-app previews: Social Inbox is visible inside Later for Free and Starter users as an upgrade preview, and Custom Analytics is visible for Free, Starter, and Growth users in the same way. Seeing the feature in your account doesn't mean it's available on your plan.
- API and follower thresholds: some features require a specific profile type (such as Instagram Business or Creator) or minimum follower count (typically 100) due to platform API requirements. These rules are set by the social platforms, not Later.
