Schedule & Publish Threads Posts

Threads scheduling is available on all plans, including Free
Threads scheduling is available on app.later.com on desktop and iOS (not Android)
Threads posts are supported for Auto Publish only (no notification publishing)
You can schedule the following types of Threads posts with Later:
- Text-only (up to 500 characters)
- Image
- Video
- Carousel (2-20 images, videos, or a combination of both)
Link previews will appear for text-only posts that don’t contain images or videos
One topic (tag) is supported for each Threads post

Connect Threads to Later

You can connect your Threads profile to Later as follows:

Note: Connecting a Threads account to Later is only supported through app.later.com on desktop at this time.

Navigate to Settings > Social Sets & Access Groups (or click here)
Select Edit next to the Social Set with an empty Threads slot:
Select Add Social Profile
Select an empty Threads slot:
Select Add Social Profile
You’ll be directed to Threads to log in using your Instagram username and password:

Note: Threads is part of the Instagram platform, and is authenticated via Instagram; however, your Threads profile doesn’t have to be associated with an Instagram profile on your Later account.
Select Continue As [your username] without deselecting any permissions
- This grants Later permission to post to Threads and collect analytics on your behalf

You’ll be redirected back to Later after connecting your Threads profile.

Once your Threads account is connected to Later, you can schedule to Threads as follows:

From app.later.com on desktop, select Calendar from the left sidebar (or click here)
Select your Threads profile from the top of the Calendar:
From the left sidebar, select Create Post
Choose a date and time for your post to Auto Publish
In the Post Thread box, enter the text (caption) for your post
- To include a topic (tag), enter the hashtag symbol and then the topic text (1 topic per post)
- Don’t include periods (.), ampersands (&), or spaces in topics—valid topic text will turn blue
- The topic's hashtag will remain in Later, but it won't show on Threads

[Optional] Select Add Media to upload one or more media items to your post
- Threads posts can contain 1-20 images, videos, or a combination of both
[Optional] Select Add Link to enter a link to include in your post

Note: Link previews will only appear on posts without any media items.
Select Schedule Post
- Alternatively, click the down arrow next to the Schedule Post button > Save as Draft to save your post as a draft and come back to it later

From the Schedule tab of Later’s iOS app, tap the create-post button in the bottom right

Tip: You can also start a post by long-pressing any open time slot in the Calendar view.
Select the Threads profile you want to schedule to from the top of the Post Builder
Add media by tapping +
Add your caption (and topic, if desired)
- You can add a Saved Caption by clicking the Saved Captions icon:
[Optional] Under More Options, select Add Link to enter a URL to include in your post
Tap Change and select a date and time for publishing
Tap Schedule Post
- Alternatively, tap Save as Draft to save your post as a draft and come back to it later

Threads scheduling isn't currently supported on Android.

Your Threads post will be automatically published at its scheduled date and time!
