With Instagram First Comment, you can schedule the first comment for your Instagram Auto Publish posts. Add hashtags to your first comment to extend the reach of your posts while keeping your captions focused. 

Important: 

• Instagram First Comment is only available for Instagram business and creator profiles on current paid plans. 
• First Comment is available through Later on the web or Later’s iOS and Android apps.
• First Comment is only available for Auto Publish posts. 
• Due to Instagram limitations, you can only use a combined total of 30 hashtags in the post caption and first comment. 
• Instagram comments can contain a maximum of 10 user mentions. This is a limitation set by Instagram.
• Always consider Instagram’s community guidelines when using hashtags. If your first comment contains hashtags that don’t follow Instagram’s guidelines, your first comment won’t be published. 

Scheduling a First Comment on the Web

Add a first comment to Instagram posts when scheduling. Here’s how:

1. In Later on web, create a post. 
2. Set the publishing method to Auto Publish.
3. Under the post caption, click Add First Comment.
4. Enter a comment and save your post. 
5. Later will publish your post and first comment at your scheduled time.

Important: Your post caption and first comment can include a combined total of 30 hashtags. So if you’ve already added 10 hashtags to your post caption, you can add 20 more to your first comment. 

Note: If you click Remove First Comment, your first comment won’t be published. But the comment you entered will be retained so you can easily add it back.

Tip: Save time by scheduling one post to multiple social profiles without adding hashtags to the caption. Then add hashtags to the Instagram first comment to extend the reach of your Instagram post.

You can also add a first comment to Instagram posts when scheduling through Later’s iOS and Android apps.

1. Create a post.
2. Set the publishing method to Auto Publish.
3. Tap First Comment.
