In this Article:
Important:
- Only YouTube Shorts can be scheduled and published through Later (not regular long-form YouTube videos)
- YouTube Shorts must be between 15–60 seconds in length
- YouTube Shorts will always be auto published (notification publishing not available)
- Both Personal & Brand YouTube channels are supported for scheduling Shorts
- Custom thumbnails for YouTube Shorts are not currently supported
- Analytics and Conversations are not available for YouTube through Later
- Current paid plans have no posting limitations; all other plans are limited to 1 Short per month
Add Your YouTube Channel
- In Later on the web, click the + button at the top of your Calendar to add a social profile
- Select an empty YouTube profile slot and click Add Social Profile
- Read the terms and check the box if you agree
- Click Add to Later

Follow the prompts to authenticate using Google to add your YouTube Channel
- Ensure you are connecting the correct Google account associated with your Channel
Schedule a YouTube Short
- From app.later.com on desktop, select your YouTube profile from the top of the Calendar page
Note: Scheduling YouTube Shorts is currently only available on app.later.com on desktop (not on mobile). - Click Create Post in the left sidebar
- Click Add Media and select the video you want to use for your Short
- Set your Short's Visibility
- Select your Short's Audience Learn more about this requirement
- Add a Title and Description

Optional Edits:
- Add Tags separated by commas (limit of 500 characters)
- Select a Category for your Short
- Toggle whether to notify your YouTube Subscribers when this Short is published

Click Schedule Post
- Alternatively, click the down arrow next to the Schedule Post button > Save as Draft to save your post as a draft and come back to it later
Setting Your YouTube Audience
Due to requirements from YouTube, you must specify whether your YouTube content is made for kids. This is a required setting in Later's Post Builder for YouTube Shorts.
