The plan information in this article applies to Later’s current standard plans unless otherwise noted. Some customers may be on legacy, promotional, custom, or package-based plans with different base amounts of users, Social Sets, AI credits, or add-ons.
Examples of package-based Scale plans include Scale 15, Scale 30, and Scale202506.
To confirm what’s included in your specific plan, go to Settings > Subscription in Later for desktop.
Key Terms
Here are a few key terms to know before comparing plans.
Social Set
A Social Set is a group of social profiles connected to your Later account. Each Social Set can include up to one profile from each supported platform:
- Threads
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Snapchat
For example, if your plan includes 1 Social Set, you can connect up to one profile from each supported platform. If your plan includes 2 Social Sets, you can connect up to two profiles from each supported platform.
See Creating and Managing Social Sets to learn more.
Access Group
Access Groups contain and organize Social Sets. They help you control which users in your Later account can access specific social profiles and media items.
Each Access Group has its own Media Library and Calendar, and can contain multiple Social Sets.
See Creating and Managing Access Groups to learn more.
A full list of key terms and definitions can be found in the Later Glossary.

Scale Packages and Plan Variations
Some Scale customers may be on package-based, legacy, promotional, or custom plans. These plans may have different base amounts than the standard Scale plan listed above.
Examples include:
- Scale 15
- Scale 30
- Scale202506
- Other custom or legacy Scale packages
These plans may include different base amounts of:
- Users
- Social Sets
- AI credits
- Add-ons
- Features
- Usage limits
If your plan name includes a package number or version, do not use the standard Scale plan table to confirm your exact plan amounts. Instead, go to Settings > Subscription to view what’s included in your specific plan.
Plan Add-ons
Add-ons let you customize your Later plan when you need more users, Social Sets, or AI credits. Add-ons can be useful when you’ve outgrown your current plan but are not ready to move to the next plan tier.
Add-on availability
| Add-on | Availability |
| Additional Social Sets | Growth plans and higher |
| Additional users | Growth plans and higher |
| Additional AI credits | Current paid plans |
Add-ons are only available if you subscribe to Later through desktop. They are not available for subscriptions purchased through Later’s iOS app.
To learn more, see:
Plan Base vs. Add-ons
Each paid plan includes a set number of users, Social Sets, and AI credits. These are included with the plan by default.
Some plans also let you purchase add-ons, such as additional users, Social Sets, or AI credits. Add-ons are added on top of what your plan already includes.
You can usually remove paid add-ons, but you can’t reduce your plan below what’s included by default. For example, if your plan includes 2 Social Sets, you can remove any extra paid Social Set add-ons, but you can’t reduce the plan below 2 Social Sets.
For package-based, legacy, promotional, or custom plans, your included amounts may be different from the standard plan amounts listed in this article. To confirm what’s included in your specific plan, go to Settings > Subscription.
To learn how to add or remove users and Social Sets, see Managing Later Plan Add-ons: Users & Social Sets
When to Upgrade Instead of Adding Add-ons
There may be times when upgrading plans is more cost-effective than paying for multiple add-ons.
Each plan may have a break-even point where the total cost of add-ons is higher than the cost of upgrading to the next plan.
Before purchasing add-ons, consider:
- Which features you need
- How many users you need
- How many Social Sets you need
- How many AI credits you need
- Whether the next plan includes those amounts by default
Then, review Later’s pricing page or your subscription settings to compare the final cost.

FAQs
How do I know what my Later plan includes?
To confirm what’s included in your specific plan, go to Settings > Subscription in Later for desktop.
This is the best place to check your current plan name, included base amounts, add-ons, and billing details.
Why didn’t my plan change right away?
If you’re currently on an annual plan and select a different monthly plan, the change may not take effect immediately.
For example, if you’re on a Starter annual plan and select a Growth monthly plan, this change is treated as a switch from annual billing to monthly billing. Your new monthly plan will begin after your current annual billing cycle ends.
If you want to confirm when your plan change will take effect, go to Settings > Subscription to review your current plan, scheduled changes, and billing cycle details.
Why does my Scale plan show a different number of users or Social Sets?
Some Scale customers are on package-based, legacy, promotional, or custom plans. These plans may have different base amounts than the standard Scale plan listed in this article.
For example, Scale 15, Scale 30, or Scale202506 may include different base amounts of users, Social Sets, AI credits, or add-ons.
To confirm your exact plan details, go to Settings > Subscription.
Can I remove users or Social Sets from my plan?
You may be able to remove paid add-ons, such as additional users or Social Sets.
However, you cannot reduce your plan below the base amount included in your subscription.
For example, if your plan includes 2 Social Sets by default, you can remove additional paid Social Set add-ons, but you cannot reduce your plan below 2 Social Sets.
If you are on a package-based or custom plan, your base amount may be different. Go to Settings > Subscription to confirm your included amounts.
What’s the difference between Free and paid plans?
Free plans include a basic set of features, such as limited scheduling, a customizable Link in Bio page, and introductory analytics.
Paid plans include more advanced features, such as:
- Higher scheduling limits
- Longer analytics history
- AI-powered features
- Collaboration and approval tools
- Additional users and Social Sets on eligible plans
- More support options
Growth plans and higher include multiple users and Social Sets, and allow you to add more users and Social Sets for a fee.
Can I have a free trial?
Yes. Later offers a 14-day trial for paid plans.
To activate your trial, you can:
- Select the green Start 14-Day Free Trial button in the top-right corner of Later’s desktop app, or
- Start your trial from your subscription settings
Free trials are not available on accounts that have previously had a trial or been on a paid plan.
What’s the difference between subscribing through iOS and desktop?
If you subscribe to a paid Later plan through the iOS app, your subscription is handled by Apple instead of Later.
This means:
- Only Starter, Growth, and Scale Advanced plans are available
- Prices appear in your local currency and end in .99
- Plan add-ons are unavailable
- Later’s team can’t access your receipts
- You must manage your subscription through the iOS app, not desktop
- Refunds must be requested from Apple, not Later
- Coupons and non-profit discounts cannot be applied
If you created your Later account through the iOS app, you can still subscribe to a paid plan on desktop. Log in to your account at app.later.com with the same credentials and upgrade your plan from your subscription settings.
