Plan and Schedule Reels on Later’s mobile app ahead of time to stay organized and keep your audience engaged!
Note: Instagram Reels can only be scheduled on Later’s mobile app right now
If the steps or images in this guide don’t match your app, please ensure you’re using the most recent version of the Later mobile app.
Important:
- Instagram Reels Scheduling is available on Starter, Growth, and Advanced plans
- Instagram Reels can only be scheduled on Later’s mobile app right now
- Each Reel is equal to 1 Later post
- Due to Instagram limitations, Instagram Reels can only be published using Later's notification publishing. Auto Publishing is not available for Reels.

Ready to start scheduling Instagram Reels? Here’s how.
Schedule Reels on Mobile
- From the Schedule tab, click the create-post button in the bottom right
Tip: You can also start a post by long-pressing any open time slot in the Calendar view - Select the Instagram profile you want to schedule to
- Under your selected profile, ensure Reels is selected
- Once selected, the app will automatically switch your post to a notification post, since Auto Publish is not available for Reels

- Add media by tapping +
- If you add multiple photos or videos, you can stitch them together in the Instagram app
- The total length of videos must be 1 minute or less
- You can add an audio from Instagram when you go to publish your post in the app
- Add your caption and hashtags. You can add a Saved Caption by clicking the Saved Captions icon
- Optional edits:
- Tap a photo to crop it (not available for video)
- Tap x to remove media
- Tap, hold, and drag media to rearrange your post
- Select a date and time for notification publishing, or tap Publish Now to publish the post immediately
- Tap Schedule Post
How Are Instagram Reels Published?
Due to limitations set by Instagram, Reels must be published using notification publishing—Auto Publish is not available for Reels.
