Important: Due to Instagram API changes, Later no longer supports Instagram personal profile connections—you must have an Instagram business or creator profile. Learn how to switch
Later’s connection to social platforms like Instagram and Facebook grants us permission to publish posts, collect content, display analytics, and more.
Due to requirements set by Meta, you must connect your Instagram business or creator profile to a Facebook Page in order to access certain Later features. You must also grant Later the correct permissions to fully access many Later features, including:
- Conversations
- Search by Hashtag
- Tagging Users & Locations
- Instagram Story analytics
- Link in Bio
- Tagging Instagram Products
- Best Time to Post
- Campaigns
For a detailed tutorial, including troubleshooting steps, see Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page.
If you don’t connect your Instagram business or creator profile to a Facebook Page, you’ll still be able to connect it and publish posts, but will have access to fewer features in Later.
Tip: You don’t need to use your Facebook Page, or promote it to your audience—Instagram just requires that your profile be connected to a Page in order to unlock certain features in their API (and therefore in Later).
Important: You’ll need an Instagram business or creator profile in order to connect it to a Facebook Page. Personal Instagram accounts can’t be connected to Pages, and due to API changes by Instagram, Instagram personal profile connections are no longer supported in Later.
