Connecting your Instagram profile to Later Social lets Later track your campaign content and metrics automatically. Depending on the campaign, you may be prompted to connect Instagram during your application or after you've been accepted, so the brand can track content and report on performance.
As of March 2026, you connect with Instagram Login. You no longer need to log in through Facebook or link your Instagram to a Facebook Page to apply to a campaign, have your content tracked, or share performance insights. You'll only be asked to connect Facebook in one specific case, covered in When Facebook Is Still Required below.
Connect Instagram From the Application
If you don't already have an Instagram profile connected to Later, you can connect it directly from the campaign application.
- In the campaign application, go to the Social Profiles section
- Next to Instagram, select Connect
- In the pop-up, log in to the Instagram profile you want to connect and authorize Later
- Select Next to continue with your application
Your profile is connected once you're returned to the application and Instagram shows as connected.
If You're Already a Later Social User
If you already use Later Social and have Instagram profile(s) connected, they're available to select in the application automatically. You don't need to reconnect.
Important: If you remove a connected Instagram profile from the campaign application, it's also removed from your Later Social account, along with its scheduled posts and Link in Bio page (if applicable). You can restore these by re-adding the profile within 30 days of disconnection.
When Facebook Is Still Required
Facebook authentication is required in one case: when a brand requests Partnership Ads on a specific piece of your live content. If that happens, you'll get an in-app notification and an email asking you to log in to Facebook and approve or deny the permissions for that content.
This is scoped to the specific post the brand wants to boost. It doesn't affect applying to campaigns, content tracking, or performance reporting, which all work with Instagram Login alone.
Note: If you're asked to connect Facebook for Partnership Ads, you'll log in to the Facebook account that manages the Page linked to your Instagram profile. For help linking the two, see Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page.
Troubleshooting
Not Seeing the Pop-Up Window
If the Instagram login pop-up doesn't appear, your browser or a browser extension is most likely blocking it.
- Enable pop-ups for the page, refresh, and try again. See pop-up settings for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox
- If it's still not working, try connecting from an Incognito or private browsing window. See how to open a private window in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox
Wrong Instagram Profile Is Connecting
If the wrong profile connects, it's usually because you're already signed in to that profile in your browser, and the connection picks it up automatically. Connect from an Incognito or private browsing window instead. This prompts you to log in to the exact profile you want to connect.
Instagram Profile Isn't Showing as an Option
If your profile doesn't appear as an option to select, confirm it's a business or creator profile. Personal profiles aren't supported for campaigns. To check your profile type or switch, see Instagram Profile Types & How to Switch.
Can't Click Next After Connecting
If you can't continue past the Social Profiles step and the campaign has Instagram deliverables or requires Instagram, confirm your Instagram is connected.
