In July 2024, we introduced a new login experience for enhanced account security. This article addresses the changes to expect in your Later Social™ account.
What’s Changed
Here's what's changed with this security update:
Two-factor Authentication (2FA)
If you’ve previously enabled 2FA for your Later Social account, you’ll have to set it up one more time after this update. Learn how
Account Email Address Updates
There will no longer be a Forgot Email option on the login page. Users will only be able to update their login email from within their account settings while logged in. Learn more
After the update, if you've forgotten the email address associated with your account, please reach out to our team for assistance. In your request, please include information about your account to verify your identity, such as other users with access to the account and/or its connected social profiles.
New Login Page Design & Process
The Later Social login page has a slightly updated look & feel:
You’ll also have to enter your email address, password, and (if 2FA is enabled) verification code on separate pages going forward, clicking Next between each step.
Account Management Page
There is a new Account Management page in your settings, with the added ability to review recent login activity by device and time (via Device activity on the left sidebar):
The Signing in tab of the Account Management page is where you can change your password and set up (or update) authenticator apps for 2FA:
Brute Force Detection
As part of enhancing account security, accounts will automatically be locked after 5 incorrect password attempts. If you get locked out, you’ll be shown a message that says Account is disabled, contact your administrator.
In this case, please reach out to our team who will provide you with a temporary password to restore access to your account. You’ll have to update your password after.
Session Timeouts
For additional account security, your logged-in session will expire after 14 days, after which you'll need to log in to Later again.
