    Preview Your Feed With Your Visual Instagram Planner

    The Visual Instagram Planner (referred to as Preview on Later's mobile apps) allows you to preview and rearrange your your scheduled and draft posts, and see how they'll look in your feed.

    Before You Use the Visual Instagram Planner

    Here are a few things to know before using the Visual Instagram Planner:

    Availability

    • The Visual Instagram Planner preview is available on both free and paid plans.
    • You can preview up to 60 upcoming scheduled posts.
    • The Visual Instagram Planner is called Preview in Later’s mobile apps.

    Setup Requirements

    • To schedule new posts from the Visual Instagram Planner, you’ll need to set up Quick Scheduling first.

    What You’ll See

    • Your preview can include scheduled posts, published posts, draft posts, and Reels.
    • Draft posts only appear when using Later on desktop.
    • All published Reels will appear, including Reels that weren’t shared to your Instagram feed. This is due to Instagram API limitations.
    • You can toggle the visibility of Drafts and Reels from the top of the Visual Instagram Planner.

    How the Visual Instagram Planner Works

    Your Visual Instagram Planner lets you preview your scheduled Instagram photos and videos alongside your published posts, so you can plan a beautiful feed. Schedule new posts or rearrange the order of scheduled posts by dragging and dropping.

    Note: Due to API limitations, personal Instagram profiles will only see posts scheduled through Later on the Visual Planner before they are published. The posts can be adjusted until they are published, at which point they will disappear. Switch to a business or creator profile to see all your posts.

    On your Visual Instagram Planner, you’ll see:

    • Scheduled Instagram posts
    • Published Instagram posts
    • Draft posts (only when using Later for desktop)
      • Select Drafts to toggle their visibility from the top of the top of the Planner 
    • All of your Reels (not just those shared to your feed) 
      • Select Reels to toggle their visibility from the top of the Planner

    Tip: You can also switch to a Reels-only view by selecting the Reels icon at the top of the Planner, but you cannot take any actions (like Quick Schedule or rearranging) from here.

     

    Access the Visual Instagram Planner

    Once you’ve set up Quick Scheduling, you can schedule and rearrange your media on your Visual Instagram Planner. To access your Visual Instagram Planner:

    1. From Later for desktop, select Calendar from the left navigation menu
    2. Select Preview at the top to access your Visual Instagram Planner

    Share Your Visual Instagram Planner

    Plan availability: Users on Growth plans and above can share their Visual Instagram Planner externally.

    To share your Planner:

    1. From Preview, select Share Calendar.
    2. Choose the view you want to share.

    When you share your Planner, people with the link can view your content in:

    • Grid view
    • Feed view
    • Calendar view by month or week

    They can also select individual posts to view more details.

    Schedule Posts in the Planner

    1. From your Side Library, select all the media you want to schedule
    2. Select Add to Preview at the bottom
      • Alternatively, drag and drop the media onto your Visual Instagram Planner
    3. Select Save Changes

    Rearrange Posts in the Planner

    1. In your Visual Instagram Planner, drag and drop scheduled posts around to change their order
    2. Select Save Changes
      • The scheduled dates and times will be shown in the Post Schedule on the right

    Delete Posts in the Planner

    1. In your Visual Instagram Planner, hover over your posts

    2. Select the X in the top left corner of a scheduled or draft post 

      Note: You can’t delete published posts from the Visual Instagram Planner.
    3. Select Save Changes

    Once you’ve scheduled posts in your Visual Instagram Planner, don’t forget to go back to your posts in your Calendar to add captions and change notification posts to Auto Publish, if desired.

    Limitations

    • Published Instagram posts can’t be rearranged on your Visual Instagram Planner preview
    • Due to Instagram limitations, only the original creator can view collaborative posts on the Visual Instagram Planner—not the invited account(s)
    • Draft posts will only show when using Later for desktop
