Experiencing issues with your connection to Instagram in Later? These issues can show up in several ways. Some of the most common problems are:
- Auto Publish posts failing at their scheduled publishing time
- Profile constantly disconnecting or failing to refresh
- Missing analytics data more than 24 hours after setup
- Unable to use certain Instagram specific features (when included with your plan). These include:
- Some Collect Media features
- Conversations
- Instagram Analytics
If you’re experiencing any of the above issues, it’s likely that permissions were missed during setup that grants Later access to your profile information. This article outlines how this can be fixed.
Select your device below for steps to reset your Instagram connection:
Desktop Instructions
Step 1 - Remove Later from Facebook
- Log in to Facebook.
- Click the down arrow button in top right corner
- Click Settings and Privacy > Settings
- Go to Business Integrations from the left side-menu
- Select Later
- Click Remove (do not tick the box to remove Later posts).
Step 2 - Reconnect Later to Facebook
- Go to Later on the web.
- Go to Social Sets & Access Groups.
- Select the Access Group with the relevant Instagram profile.
- Click Enable permission or Refresh next to your Instagram profile.
- If asked to log in to Facebook, log in to your personal account that’s connected to your Instagram business profile. This account must be an Admin for the connected Facebook page.
- Click Continue > Choose what you allow.
- Expand all the sections and make sure all pages and permissions are selected to grant Later proper permissions.
Note: If you have other Facebook pages connected to this Facebook account, it is best to refresh all of them now as this process may have caused those to disconnect as well. Simply click Refresh beside all profiles in each Access Group to do so.
iOS Instructions
Step 1 - Remove Later from Facebook
- In the Facebook app, tap ☰ on the bottom right corner
- Scroll down and tap Settings
- Under Security, tap Business Integrations.
- Select Later and tap Remove
- Tap Remove again (do not tick the box to delete Later posts)
Step 2 - Reconnect Later to Facebook
- In the Later mobile app, go to Account > Auto Publish Settings.
- Tap Enable or Refresh next to your Instagram business profile.
- Tap Log in to Facebook.
- Log in to your personal account that’s connected to your Instagram business profile. This account must be an Admin for the connected Facebook page.
- Tap Choose what you allow and make sure all permissions are enabled.
- Tap OK.
Note: If you don’t see Auto Publish Settings, make sure you’re in the right Access Group.
Android Instructions
Step 1 - Remove Later from Facebook
- In the Facebook app, tap ☰ on the bottom right corner
- Scroll down and tap Settings

- Tap Remove again (do not tick the box to delete Later posts)

Note: If you don’t see Auto Publish Settings, make sure you’re in the right Access Group.
This should reset your Instagram connection and fix any issues you were experiencing with you Instagram based features.
