    Later Sales Tax & VAT Information

    Does Later charge sales tax/VAT?

    Depending on your location, you may be charged sales tax/VAT on your Later subscription. Tax/VAT is not included in the price of your plan. Any applicable tax/VAT will be charged in addition to the price of your plan and will be outlined separately on your receipts.

    Note: Your location for tax/VAT purposes is determined by your mailing address, which can be updated following the steps in the next section.

    Canada-based Customers 

    Sales tax is charged based on your province or territory, in compliance with Canadian tax laws.

    Customers outside of Canada

    We are in the process of rolling out sales tax/VAT globally, so you may be charged tax/VAT based on your location, if applicable.

    Note: Tax/VAT rates can change over time, and vary by location. Tax/VAT amounts are subject to change in accordance with local requirements.

    Change your mailing address

    Your mailing address is used to calculate applicable tax/VAT. You can update your mailing address on the Payment & Billing History page in your Later account:

    1. From app.later.com on desktop, click Settings > Subscription
    2. Next to Payment & Billing History, click Details
    3. Next to Mailing Address, click Edit
    4. Enter your updated mailing address
    5. When you're done, click Save

    Tax Exemptions

    If your business is not required to pay tax, please reach out to our team with your tax exemption certificate and we will adjust your account accordingly.

    VAT Exemptions

    If your business is not required to pay VAT, and you’re in a location where we charge VAT, you’ll have the opportunity to enter your VAT information during sign up or in your account settings. You’ll have to confirm that you’re a VAT-registered business and that the mailing address you entered is your registered business address.

    Note: You’ll only be able to add or edit VAT information in Later if you are in a location where we charge VAT. Otherwise, these fields will not be available in your account.

    Add or Edit Your VAT Information

    If you haven’t signed up for Later yet, you’ll be able to add your VAT information while creating your account. If you already have a Later account, you can add or edit your VAT information in your account settings as follows:

    1. From app.later.com on desktop, click Settings > Subscription
    2. Next to Payment & Billing History, click Details
    3. Next to VAT Information, click Add or Edit
    4. Enter your registered business name and VAT number
    5. Click the checkbox to confirm that you’re a VAT-registered business and that the mailing address in your account settings is your registered business address
    6. Click Submit VAT
    Important: The VAT information you enter will be pending validation. If it’s found to be invalid, we’ll send you an email to correct it. Until it’s corrected, you’ll be charged VAT on your next bill.
