Many brands use a draft review process in their campaigns to review content before it is published. If you're participating in a campaign with a draft review, you'll be prompted to upload your content and captions to your campaign manager in Later before posting. The brand will be able to review it and leave feedback for you.
Check if a Campaign Requires Draft Review
You can check if your campaign requires a draft review by checking if there is a Draft Submissions and Review section in the campaign manager, which looks like this:
If there’s only a Live Deliverables section and no Draft Submissions and Review section, that means the brand hasn’t enabled a draft review for the campaign.
If you're participating in a campaign with a draft review, you'll be prompted to upload your content and captions to the campaign manager before posting. The brand will share feedback through the same portal, and you can resubmit revised content the same way.
If your campaign doesn’t require draft review, you can go ahead and publish your content deliverables once they’re ready, being sure to follow the brief. For more on how performance is tracked for published campaign content, see Publish & Track Campaign Content.
Submit Drafts for Review
The process of submitting content from a draft review can be broken down into the following stages:
- Find and review the content deliverables that the brand has requested for the campaign
- Create your content and submit your draft(s) through the campaign manager
- Receive feedback (requested changes) or approval to publish from the brand
Each of these stages is outlined in more detail below:
Find Your Content Deliverables
The unique deliverables of each campaign are included in the campaign brief from the brand. To find your campaign brief:
- From the left sidebar, select Creator Home
- Select Manage Campaigns to open your campaign manager
- If needed, select Active from the sidebar to review your active campaigns:
- Select Open Campaign next to your campaign in the list
- If needed, you can filter by brand using the dropdown at the top
- Scroll to the About this Campaign section
This section of the campaign manager contains information about the campaign’s deliverables, which might include the concept, must-hit messaging, inspiration, and more. Always review the brief closely to ensure you meet specific guidelines and policies and help ensure a speedy draft review process.
Submit a Draft
Once you’ve reviewed the campaign brief and created your content, you can submit it for review through your campaign manager as follows:
- From the left sidebar, select Creator Home
- Select Manage Campaigns to open your campaign manager
- If needed, select Active from the sidebar to review your active campaigns
- Select Open Campaign next to your campaign in the list
- If needed, you can filter by brand using the dropdown at the top
- Scroll to the Draft Submissions and Review section:
- Select + Submit next to the post you’re submitting for approval
- Upload your media
- Enter your caption, including the required hashtags
- [Optional] Add any extra information or context for the brand in the Notes field
- Select Submit for Review
The draft submission page looks like the following (will vary slightly based on the post type you’re submitting):
Once submitted for review, your post will be shown as Under review in the Draft Submissions and Review section:
If you have additional content beyond the required deliverables that you’d like to submit for review, you can submit them in the Additional Content for Review area of the Draft Submissions and Review section. You’ll be prompted to select the type of additional content and then submit it following the same process outlined above.
Your submitted drafts’ review statuses will be displayed at-a-glance at the top of your campaign manager:
The statuses will also be visible in the Draft Submissions and Review section:
Receive Feedback or Approval
You’ll receive an email once your draft has been reviewed, which will contain the link to view feedback. You’ll receive one of the following statuses from the brand on your draft:
- Approved: This draft has been approved and you’re ready to publish!
- Publish with corrections: This draft requires corrections before publishing, but doesn’t need to be submitted for review again. Select Feedback to view the required corrections and be sure to apply them before publishing.
- Changes required: The brand has left feedback and the post will need to be updated accordingly and submitted again for approval. Select Feedback to view required corrections. Select Update Draft to submit your updated draft the same way as above.
Publish Approved Content
Once your draft has been approved, you’re ready to publish your content! Many post types can be tracked automatically, but some require manual self-reporting. For more details, see Publish & Track Campaign Content.
