Connect your Meta Ad accounts to view paid and organic performance together in Custom Analytics.
Before You Start
Before connecting an account:
- Make sure you have access to the Ad account in Meta.
- Connect the Facebook or Instagram profile associated with your boosted posts to Later.
- Each Later user can connect one Meta Business account at a time. However, multiple Meta Business accounts can be connected to the same Later account when they’re connected by different users. Each Meta Business account can contain multiple Ad accounts.
Connect a Meta Ad Account
- In Later, go to Social Sets & Access Groups.
- Open the Meta Business Accounts tab.
- Select the option to connect an account.
- Follow the prompts to authorize Later through Meta.
- Select the Ad accounts you want to add.
- Assign the Ad accounts to one or more Access Groups.
After the connection is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message and be taken to Custom Analytics.
It can take up to 24 hours for data from a newly connected Ad account to appear. Historical data can take longer to backfill.
Manage Your Ad Accounts
From the Meta Business Accounts tab, you can:
- View connected Ad accounts.
- See which Access Groups they are assigned to.
- Add or remove Ad accounts.
- Refresh your connection.
- Disconnect your Meta Business account.
The options you see depend on your Meta Ad account permissions.
View Boosted Organic Post Analytics
Custom Analytics displays paid and organic growth metrics for eligible Facebook and Instagram posts that you published and boosted. You can filter by date range to compare organic and paid performance growth during a specific period.
In the Your Boosted Posts dashboard, you can view Total and Paid performance metrics and filter results by Ad Account ID, Campaign Name, Ad Set Name, Ad Name, and Ad Status.
You’ll only see boosted posts where Later has access to both the paid performance data and the original post’s organic metrics. This means boosted content published by other creators, including collaborator posts, won’t appear in this view.
Later will backfill eligible historical data after the Ad account is connected. This process may take longer than the initial data import.
Refresh or Disconnect Your Account
Meta Business account connections expire after 60 days. When a connection expires or becomes invalid, you must refresh it to authorize Later again.
You can disconnect your account when you need to connect a different Meta Business account or allow another Later user to connect it. Disconnecting your Meta Business account does not disconnect your Facebook Page or Instagram profile from Later.
Troubleshooting
If your data doesn’t appear:
- Confirm that the correct Ad account is connected.
- Confirm that it is assigned to the correct Access Group.
- Make sure the associated Facebook or Instagram profile is connected to Later.
- Allow up to 24 hours for the initial data import.
- Refresh the connection if prompted.
If the issue continues, contact Later Support with the Meta Ad ID and a link to the original post.
