This article explains how to post YouTube Videos and Shorts for campaigns in Later Social, including how to connect your YouTube channel, find your Campaign Code, link your video in YouTube, and submit your published URL.
YouTube campaign requirements
You may be required to connect your YouTube channel when applying to a campaign that includes YouTube deliverables, such as a YouTube Video or YouTube Short.
Connecting your YouTube channel helps Later and the brand confirm that your YouTube content is connected to the correct campaign. If you’ve already connected YouTube, you can continue with your application unless Later Social asks you to refresh the connection. If you haven’t, Later Social will guide you through the connection process before you submit your application.
What is a YouTube Campaign Code?
A YouTube Campaign Code is a unique code created by YouTube for a campaign.
If you’re confirmed for a campaign with YouTube deliverables, Later Social displays the Campaign Code in your campaign manager. You’ll use this code in YouTube when publishing or editing your video so YouTube can recognize that the content belongs to the correct campaign.
If you have multiple YouTube deliverables in the same campaign, the Campaign Code is the same across those deliverables.
Connect your YouTube channel when applying to a campaign
When you apply to a campaign with YouTube deliverables, YouTube is automatically required as a connected channel.
To connect YouTube during your campaign application:
- Open the campaign application in Later Social
- Review the campaign requirements
- When prompted, select the option to connect your YouTube channel
- Follow the YouTube authorization steps
- Return to your campaign application
- Finish submitting your application
If your YouTube channel is already connected, you won’t need to reconnect it unless your connection has expired or needs to be refreshed.
Find your YouTube Campaign Code
After you’re confirmed for a YouTube campaign, open the campaign in Later Social to find your Campaign Code.
Copy the Campaign Code before you publish your YouTube Video or Short. You’ll need it when linking your video to the campaign in YouTube.
Link your YouTube video while posting
When publishing your YouTube Video or Short, add the Campaign Code in YouTube as part of the paid promotion or brand campaign setup.
To link your video while posting:
- Open YouTube and start uploading your video
- Add your title, description, and other video details as usual
Open the paid promotion or brand campaign section
Find the brand and campaign that match the Campaign Code shown in Later Social
Select the matching campaign
Confirm or agree to YouTube’s required prompts
- Publish your video
The exact labels in YouTube may vary depending on your device, app version, and YouTube account settings.
Link your YouTube video after posting
If you already published your video without linking it to the campaign, you may still be able to add the Campaign Code afterward.
To link your video after posting:
- Open the published video in YouTube
- Edit the video details
- Open the paid promotion or brand campaign section
- Find the brand and campaign that match the Campaign Code shown in Later Social
- Select the matching campaign
- Confirm or agree to YouTube’s required prompts
- Save your changes
After linking the video in YouTube, make sure you also submit the published YouTube URL in Later Social.
Fix an incorrectly linked campaign
If you accidentally link your video to the wrong campaign, remove the incorrect campaign link in YouTube and then link the video again using the correct Campaign Code from Later Social.
To fix an incorrect campaign link:
- Open the published video in YouTube.
- Edit the video details
- Open the paid promotion or brand campaign section.
- Find the incorrectly linked campaign
- Remove the incorrect campaign
- Find the correct brand and campaign using the Campaign Code shown in Later Social
- Select the correct campaign
- Confirm or agree to YouTube’s required prompts
- Save your changes
We recommend checking the Campaign Code in Later Social before linking or relinking your video.
Submit your YouTube URL in Later Social
After your YouTube content is published, submit the video URL in Later Social.
To submit your YouTube content:
- Open the campaign in Later Social
- Go to your campaign deliverables
- Select the YouTube Video or YouTube Short deliverable
- Paste the published YouTube URL
- Submit the URL
Make sure the URL you submit matches the YouTube content you created for the campaign.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see a YouTube connection prompt
You’ll only be prompted to connect YouTube if the campaign includes YouTube deliverables. If you expected YouTube to be required, review the campaign brief or contact the campaign manager.
I don’t see a Campaign Code
The Campaign Code appears after you’re confirmed for an eligible YouTube campaign. If you don’t see one, check that you’ve been confirmed for the campaign and that the deliverable is a YouTube Video or YouTube Short.
I already posted my video without the Campaign Code
Edit the video in YouTube and add the correct campaign using the Campaign Code shown in Later Social. Then make sure the published YouTube URL has been submitted in Later Social.
I linked the wrong campaign
Remove the incorrect campaign link in YouTube, then relink the video using the correct Campaign Code from Later Social.
I submitted my URL, but the brand says my video isn’t linked
Submitting your URL in Later Social and linking your video in YouTube are both required. Check that you added the correct Campaign Code to the correct YouTube video.
Limitations and availability
- YouTube channel connection is required when applying to campaigns with YouTube deliverables.
- The Campaign Code appears after you’re confirmed for an eligible YouTube campaign.
- YouTube link status visibility, such as Pending, Active, or Declined, is not currently shown to creators in Later Social.
- Automatic YouTube content binding is not currently available. You still need to submit your YouTube video URL in Later Social.
