When a campaign includes cash incentives, Later Social uses Stripe to send payouts securely. As a talent agent, you can choose who receives the funds: your agency directly, or your creators.
This article explains both options, how Stripe onboarding works, and what creators need to do to ensure they get paid on time.
Why Stripe Is Used for Campaign Payments
Stripe is Later Social's payment provider for campaign fees. It ensures:
- Fast and secure transfers
- Verified identity checks
- Accurate payout tracking inside Later Social (Initiated → In Transit → Deposited)
Brands and creators don't need to exchange banking information directly — everything is handled through Stripe Express.
When Can I Connect Stripe?
Once your creator's participation in a campaign has been confirmed and the brand has outlined incentives, you'll be prompted to connect a Stripe account.
Who Should Connect Stripe?
Before creating or connecting a Stripe account, decide who will receive campaign payments — your agency (Talent Agent) or your creators.
All payment information (bank details, identity documents, etc.) is securely stored in Stripe and is not visible within the Later Social platform.
Option 1 — Agency receives all payouts on behalf of the creator
This setup is common among talent agents that handle finances and distribute payments to creators externally.
How it works
- You sign into Stripe and connect your Agency’s banking information inside Later Social
- All campaign payments flow into your Agency’s Stripe account, not the creator’s
- You manage creator payments outside of Later Social (e.g., bank transfer, PayPal, internal accounting)
When to use this option
- You receive payments first and then distribute funds to creators yourself
- You want centralized financial control
How to connect
- Open the Incentive Details section inside the relevant campaign
- Click Complete or Connect
- Complete Stripe onboarding using your agency’s banking information
- Note: When onboarding to Stripe, ensure that your Business Type is submitted correctly.
- Options are: Individual/Sole Trader, Company or Non-profit
- Save and confirm
- You may need to verify your email with Stripe, but this should be clearly explained
- Once your Stripe is connected, the status updates to Connected
Option 2 — Creator receives payments directly
Send these steps to creators who prefer direct payouts.
When to use this option
- The creator tracks their own income
- The creator wants payments deposited directly to their bank account
How creators connect to Stripe
Creators complete onboarding in their Campaign Manager:
- Open the campaign → scroll to Incentive Details
- Click Complete or Connect Stripe
- Stripe will open in a pop-up window (they must disable pop-up blockers if blocked)
- Creator signs in with an existing Stripe account or creates a new one
- They confirm personal details, provide verification, and add a payout method
- They verify their email with Stripe
- After returning to Campaign Manager, the status updates to Connected
Important notes for talent agents
- In instances where your Creator received their payment directly, you cannot complete Stripe onboarding on a creator's behalf — Stripe requires personal identity verification from the account holder
- Once onboarded, creators can update their information at any time through Stripe Express
- You must connect a Stripe account each time you participate in a campaign with cash compensation
