Having trouble setting up Auto Publishing for Instagram? Instagram profile not refreshing as expected? There are 3 main areas where problems like these can occur. This guide will outline each issue and direct you to the resources to help.
Follow the steps below. Each step will lead to a guide to help check and fix that issue. After each step is complete, come back to this page and move to the next.
Step 1: Check your Page role in Facebook
To enable Auto Publish for Instagram, you’ll also need to have admin or editor access to the Facebook page connected to your Instagram profile. If you’re the Page creator, you should already have this. But if the Page was created by someone else, you may not have been granted all needed access to connect Auto Publish.
Check out this Facebook article which outlines how to check your current admin level.
Step 2: Check that the right Instagram profile is connected in Facebook
In order for Later to authenticate your Instagram profile for Auto Publish, it must be connected to a Facebook Page you’re an admin or editor of.
Check out Connecting an Instagram Profile and Facebook Page to confirm or enable this connection.
Note: If you don’t have a Facebook Page to connect to, see this Facebook article on how to set one up from your Instagram app.
After steps 1 and 2, try enabling Auto Publishing again. If you still have issues move to step 3.
Step 3: Reset the connection between Facebook and Later
To publish your content automatically, Later needs to be granted full permissions to your Facebook Pages. It’s important to allow access to all permissions and Pages. If a permission is missed, the connection will fail.
In this step you'll reset the connection between Later and Facebook. This will allow you to reselect the permissions to your Facebook page and ensure Later has full access.
Check out Troubleshooting Instagram Connection Issues to reset your connection. Then try enabling Auto Publish again.
