Not receiving notifications for your Later posts? This article covers some common reasons why, and how to fix them.
If you missed the notification for your post, you can still publish it directly through Later’s app. See Missed Post Notifications for details.
Post was scheduled for Auto Publish
If you didn’t receive a notification for your post, it’s possible it was scheduled for Auto Publish instead of notification publishing.
Auto Publish posts will go live automatically at their scheduled time (if your connection hasn’t expired), and you won’t receive a push notification for them. For more details, see Auto Publish vs. Notification Publishing & How to Switch.
To verify the publishing method that was used for your post, open the Calendar on Later for desktop or through the mobile app and navigate to the day the post was scheduled. The symbol on or above the post’s icon will indicate which publishing method was used:
- A lightning bolt icon indicates that Auto Publish was selected as the publishing method, which is why you wouldn’t have received a notification:

Not logged in to correct Later account
You will only receive notifications from the Later account that you are currently logged in to on your mobile device. If you aren’t logged in to the Later account that the post was scheduled for, you won’t receive a notification.
To check this, open the Later app on your mobile device and tap Account to confirm which Later account you’re logged in to.
Later notifications disabled
In addition to having the Later app installed and being logged in to your Later account at the post’s scheduled time, you also must have allowed notifications from Later on your device. Otherwise, Later will be blocked from sending a push notification at your post’s scheduled time.
For instructions on how to check and test your Later notification settings, see Enable Notifications from Later.
