    Refresh Your Social Profile Connection

    Later’s connection to social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok grants us permission to publish posts, collect content, display analytics, and more. If your account connection expires, you’ll need to refresh it so you can continue using the features that rely on this connection.

    Important:

    • When your connection is expired, you won’t be able to use some features in Later until you refresh your connection
    • Due to security measures enforced by Meta, we’ve found that users who manage more than 5 Social Sets may need to refresh their connections more frequently
    • Certain actions, like logging in from a new location or changing who has admin permissions, can result in connections needing to be refreshed earlier than usual. Learn more

    Refresh Your Connection

    1. From Later for desktop, go to Settings > Social Sets & Access Groups 
    2. Find the Access Group with the social profile that needs to be refreshed and select Edit
    3. Beside the social profile, select the Refresh button
      • A pop-up will appear—if you don't see it, try from an Incognito or private browsing window
    4. Log in with your username and password for that social profile
    Important: Turn off any pop-up blockers before refreshing your connection.
    Note: If you’re refreshing the connection for an Instagram business or creator profile, you’ll need to log in to the Facebook profile linked to that profile. The Facebook profile must have Facebook access to the Page. 
    Tip: If the steps above don’t work, open a new tab in the same browser and log in to the social account that has an expired connection. Go back to Later and select the refresh button again. 

    Refresh Your Instagram or TikTok Connection on Mobile

    You can refresh the connection for your Instagram business or creator profile on Later’s iOS and Android apps, and your TikTok account on the iOS app. Here’s how:

    1. From Later's mobile app, tap Account > Social Sets
    2. Tap the Instagram business or creator profile or TikTok account that needs refreshing
      • Note: TikTok can only be refreshed on the iOS mobile app at this time (not Android).
    3. Tap the refresh icon 🔄
    4. If needed, authenticate your TikTok account or the Facebook account linked to your Instagram profile
    Important: When refreshing Instagram, make sure to log in to the Facebook profile has Facebook access to the Page connected to your Instagram business or creator profile. 

    Enable Permissions

    Do you see Enable Permissions next to your Instagram profile? That means you've set up Auto Publish but haven’t granted Later the right permissions. Here’s how to fix this:

    1. Select the Enable Permissions button next to your Instagram profile
    2. In the pop-up, log in to the Facebook account connected to your Instagram business or creator profile
      • Make sure this account has Facebook access to the Page
    3. When prompted to give Facebook access to Later, select Choose what you allow and grant Later all permissions to all your Pages
      • Make sure you expand all sections and select all Pages

    Still having trouble refreshing your Instagram connection? Try resetting your connection between Instagram and Later.
