    Reset Your Instagram Connection

    Experiencing issues with your connection to Instagram in Later? These issues can show up in several ways. Some of the most common problems are:

    • Auto Publish posts failing at their scheduled publishing time
    • Profile constantly disconnecting or failing to refresh
    • Missing analytics data more than 24 hours after setup
    • Unable to use certain Instagram specific features (when included with your plan), including:
      • Some Collect Media features
      • Conversations
      • Instagram Analytics

    If you’re experiencing any of the above issues, it’s likely that the permissions that grant Later access to your profile information were missed during setup. This article outlines how this can be fixed. 

    Select your device below for steps to reset your Instagram connection: 

    Desktop Instructions

    To reset your Instagram connection, you must remove Later from Facebook as follows:

    1. Log in to Facebook
    2. Click your profile picture in the top right > Settings and privacy > Settings (or click here to access this page directly)
      Important: Ensure you're acting as your personal Facebook profile during this process, not your Page.
    3. On the left side menu under Your activity, select Business integrations:
    4. Next to Later, select Remove:
    5. Select Remove again to confirm
      • Don't tick the box to remove Later posts

    Once you've removed Later from Facebook, try re-connecting Instagram by following the steps in Enable Auto Publish > For Instagram →

    Note: If you have other Facebook Pages connected to this account, it's best to refresh all of them now as this process may have caused those to disconnect as well. Select Refresh beside all profiles in each Access Group to do so.

    iOS Instructions

    Step 1 - Remove Later from Facebook:

    1. In the Facebook app, tap ☰ on the bottom right corner
    2. Scroll down and tap Settings
    3. Under Security, tap Business Integrations
    4. Select Later and tap Remove
    5. Tap Remove again
      • Do not tick the box to delete Later posts 

    Step 2 - Reconnect Later to Facebook:

    1. In the Later mobile app, go to Account > Auto Publish Settings
    2. Tap Enable or Refresh next to your Instagram business or creator profile
    3. Tap Log in to Facebook
    4. Log in to your personal account that’s connected to your Instagram business or creator profile
    5. Tap Choose what you allow and make sure all permissions are enabled
    6. Tap OK
    Note: If you don’t see Auto Publish Settings, make sure you’re in the right Access Group.

    Android Instructions

    Step 1 - Remove Later from Facebook:

    1. In the Facebook app, tap ☰ on the bottom right corner
    2. Scroll down and tap Settings
    3. Under Security, tap Business Integrations
    4. Select Later and tap Remove
    5. Tap Remove again
      • Do not tick the box to delete Later posts
