Instagram business or creator profiles and TikTok Personal or Business Accounts can automatically publish posts to Instagram and TikTok using Later. But before you can automatically publish your Instagram and TikTok posts, you’ll need to enable Auto Publish for these profiles.
Important:
- Only the Later account owner can enable Auto Publish
- Auto Publish for Instagram Multi-Photo (carousel) posts is only available on current paid plans
- Auto Publish for Instagram single image posts, Reels, and TikTok videos is available on all plans, including free

You can enable Auto Publish for Instagram through Later on the web or Later’s iOS and Android apps
- If you don’t see the option to enable Auto Publish on your mobile app, please be sure your app is up-to-date
- Only Instagram business profiles (not creator profiles) can Auto Publish Instagram Stories
- If you’re already logged into a Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok account, Later will automatically connect with it during this process. Ensure these are the correct accounts, or use an incognito window for setup
What’s Needed to Enable Auto Publish for Instagram
To set up Auto Publish for Instagram, there are 3 things you must have:
- An Instagram business or creator profile. Personal profiles can’t Auto Publish. Learn more
- A Facebook Page connected to your Instagram profile. See how this is done
- Admin access to the connected Facebook Page. See How to confirm your Page roles
How To Enable Auto Publishing for Instagram
If you meet the requirements above, you can enable Auto Publish for Instagram using the steps below.
Setting Up Auto Publish on the Web
Here’s how to enable Auto Publishing from Later on the web:
- Log in to Later on the web.
- Go to Settings > Social Sets & Access Groups.
- Find Access Group with the relevant Instagram profile and click Edit.
- Click Enable next to your Instagram profile.

In the pop-up, log in to the Facebook account connected to your Instagram business or creator profile. Make sure this account is an Admin for the connected Facebook page.
No pop-up? If no Facebook pop-up appears when clicking Enable, you may have a pop-up blocker enabled. Allow pop-ups from Later and try again. -
When prompted to give Facebook access to Later, click Choose what you allow and grant Later all permissions to all your pages.

Important: You must grant Later all permissions to all of your pages to avoid connection issues. If this hasn’t been done, you may experience:
To fix this, click Enable permissions or Refresh and follow steps 5 and 6 above to grant Later all permissions. |
Setting Up Auto Publish on iOS
If you have an Instagram business or creator profile, you can also enable Auto Publish through Later’s iOS and Android apps. (If you don’t see the option to enable Auto Publish on your mobile app, please be sure your app is up-to-date.) Here’s how:
- Go to Account > Social Sets
- Pick your Instagram profile
- Tap Enable next to the Instagram business or creator profile you want to set up Auto Publish for
- Log in to the Facebook account linked to your Instagram business or creator profile to complete setup
Setting Up Auto Publish on Android
If you have an Instagram business or creator profile, you can also enable Auto Publish through Later’s iOS and Android apps. (If you don’t see the option to enable Auto Publish on your mobile app, please be sure your app is up-to-date.) Here’s how:
- Go to Account > Social Sets
- Pick your Instagram profile
- Tap Enable next to the Instagram business or creator profile you want to set up Auto Publish for
- Log in to the Facebook account linked to your Instagram business or creator profile to complete set up
That’s it! You’ve enabled Auto Publishing for Instagram. Future Instagram posts you schedule will be set to Auto Publish by default.
If you’ve already scheduled posts, you’ll need to switch them to Auto Publish now.

What’s Needed to Enable Auto Publish for TikTok
To set up Auto Publish for TikTok, there are 2 things you must have:
- A TikTok Account (Business or Personal)
- At least one public TikTok video
How To Enable Auto Publishing for TikTok
If you meet the requirements above, you can enable Auto Publish for TikTok using the steps below.
- Log in to Later on the web
- Go to Settings > Social Sets & Access Groups
- Find Access Group with the relevant TikTok profile and click Enable
- On the next screen, confirm that you are logged in to the correct TikTok account by verifying the username (if not, back out and try again after logging into the correct account, or authorize from an Incognito window and log in from there)
- Click Authorize
That’s it! You’ve enabled Auto Publishing for TikTok. Future TikTok posts you schedule will be set to Auto Publish by default.
