Stripe is Later’s payment processor partner. In order to receive monetary payments for campaigns as a creator, you'll need to verify your Stripe account with Later.
You can complete Stripe onboarding via the campaign manager. This process can be completed by an individual influencer, company, or talent agency, based on who is to receive the payout.
This article covers the process of connecting your Stripe account to Later to get paid for campaigns, as well as frequently asked questions about campaign payments.
Do I need to connect Stripe?
You can check whether you need to connect Stripe as follows:
- Open the link to your campaign manager, which can be found in your campaign email
- Scroll to the Incentive Details section
If it says You’re ready to receive payments, you’re all set! This means the contact email from your profile was already associated with a verified Stripe account.
If it says Not completed, it means Stripe still needs to be connected. From here, follow the steps under I have a Stripe account already or I don’t have a Stripe account yet, based on whether you have an existing Stripe account.
I have a Stripe account already
- Open the link to your campaign manager, which can be found in your campaign email, or navigate to your campaign manager in Later
- Scroll to the Incentive Details section and review your Stripe connection status:
- If it says You’re ready to receive payments, you’re all set—the contact email from your profile was already associated with a verified Stripe account
- If it says Not completed, proceed to the next step—you’ll need to verify your information with Stripe
- Select Complete to be redirected to Stripe to complete the setup process
- If you aren’t redirected, please ensure you have enabled pop-ups on your browser window, or try from an Incognito/private browsing window
- None of the personal information entered in Stripe will be saved in Later
- Select your existing account or enter your email address and click Continue
- This email can be different than the one associated with your Later profile
- You’ll be prompted to confirm some personal details and select the desired account to receive payment
- At the end, click Agree & Submit
Back under Incentive Details in Later, your status should now say You’re ready to receive payments.
I don’t have a Stripe account yet
- Open the link to your campaign manager, which can be found in your campaign email, or navigate to your campaign manager in Later
- Scroll to the Incentive Details section and click Complete
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe to create an account (none of the personal information entered in Stripe will be saved in Later Influence)
- If you aren’t redirected, please ensure you have enabled pop-ups on your browser window, or try from an Incognito/private browsing window
- Don’t see the Complete link? If your status says You’re ready to receive payments, there’s no further action required—this means the contact email from your profile was already associated with a verified Stripe account
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe to create an account (none of the personal information entered in Stripe will be saved in Later Influence)
- Complete the onboarding process in Stripe:
- Once you begin the Stripe onboarding process, you cannot go back to a previous step, so please fill out each field carefully before going to the next page
- Enter your email and (if prompted) your phone number:
- If prompted, verify your phone number via text message code
- Enter your business information
- Under Type of business, select Individual if you’re an influencer, Company if you’re a talent agency or other business entity, or Nonprofit organization if designated as such:
- If you selected Company, specify which type of company:
- Under Type of business, select Individual if you’re an influencer, Company if you’re a talent agency or other business entity, or Nonprofit organization if designated as such:
- Click Continue and enter further details about yourself or your business as prompted, including a link to your website or main social media profile
- Click Continue and connect the bank account to which you’d like to receive payouts:
- Verify your details and click Agree & Submit
- Open the confirmation email sent to your account by Stripe and click Confirm your email
- Open your campaign manager and click Retry again
- Your account should change from Not completed to You’re ready to receive payments
- If it’s still not connected, make sure you have confirmed your email address and verified your Stripe account, then click Retry
Modify Stripe Account Details
Once connected, you can modify your account details—including which account receives campaign payouts—using Stripe Express as follows:
- Open the link to your campaign manager, which can be found in your campaign email, or navigate to your campaign manager in Later
- Scroll down to Incentive Details
- Next to You’re ready to receive payments, select Dashboard
- You’ll be redirected to your Stripe Express account
- select the profile icon in the top right
- From this page you can edit your personal information, including your phone number and email address
- To change your payout account, scroll down to Payout Details and select Later Influence™
- From the sidebar, select the pencil icon to remove your current bank account and add a new one
Frequently Asked Questions About Campaign Payments
What do I need to do to get paid via Stripe?
To get paid via Stripe, you’ll need to connect it to Later via the campaign manager. If you don't have a Stripe account already, you’ll be prompted to create one when you are accepted to a campaign with a Stripe incentive. You can also use your existing Stripe account—just sure it’s active, and that you have access to the email address it is associated with.
Once you’ve verified your account with Stripe, there is no further action required to receive payments. After a brand initiates payment, you’ll be able to view the status of the funds in your Stripe Express dashboard. It typically takes around 2 business days for the bank transfer to complete.
My Stripe payment was sent to the wrong email address. What should I do?
If your Stripe payment was sent to the wrong address, please reach out to your campaign contact to have them cancel and resend the payment.
There is an issue with my Stripe account. What should I do?
If you’re having trouble with your Stripe account, please contact Stripe Support directly. While Later is unable to address issues in Stripe, please let your campaign contact know if you’re having trouble or wish to use an alternate payment address.
Do I need to submit tax forms for campaigns?
Later doesn’t require or manage any tax forms for campaigns.
If you receive Stripe payments for campaigns, you’ll receive a 1099 tax form from Stripe directly, typically at the end of January each year. How to find your 1099 in Stripe →
Because tax forms are managed by the payment service, Later is unable to provide them directly. If it’s past the end of January and you haven’t received your 1099 tax form yet, please reach out to Stripe Support for further assistance.
If you receive payments in any other form, please consult with your campaign contact directly for details.
I haven’t been paid for my campaign, or my payment is late. What should I do?
If you’re a creator who hasn’t been paid for a campaign, or if you have any questions about campaign payment, we recommend that you first check your email inbox for any proactive communication from the brand about potential delays. Brands also include payment details in campaign emails and the campaign manager, when applicable.
If you haven’t received an update, please reach out to your campaign contact by replying to an email they've sent you. Please note that payments are managed at each brand's discretion, and may also be managed outside of Later.
