Are you a social media manager or agency working with multiple clients? Later’s Scale plans allow for a larger number of social sets and users, designed for individuals or teams who work with a larger amount of social media profiles.
This article will cover what Later’s Scale plans include, how you can manage your plan, and whether a Scale plan is right for you or your team!
What’s the difference between a Scale plan and Later’s regular plans?
Scale plans include all of Later’s features (the same as our Growth and Advanced plans), but include a larger amount of Social Sets and users at a discounted price.
How do I know if a Scale plan is right for me or my team?
Whether or not a Scale plan is right for you depends on the number of Social Sets and/or users you want to manage with your Later account.
While you are able to add extra Social Sets and users to our Growth and Advanced plans as add-ons, at a certain point our Scale plans are a better value. This value threshold depends on the amount of Social Sets and users you require in your plan.
Can I invite my clients to my Later account, and only give them access to their accounts/data?
Yes! You can create Access Groups and only invite users to the Access Group(s) you want them to be part of. Each Access Group has its own Media Library, social profiles, and Calendar.
Our Scale plans include unlimited Access Groups, which can be created and managed through app.later.com on desktop by the Later account owner. Learn more about Access Groups
Does Later have an approval process for social content?
While we don’t have an approval flow for individual posts, we do have features you can use to collaborate with your team and/or clients to provide feedback on social content. Final approvals will have to be confirmed outside of Later, but the following features can help facilitate these discussions:
Share your Instagram Content Calendar
You can share a preview of the posts scheduled for Instagram by generating a share link. This link will lead to a preview of your Instagram feed, including posts scheduled for the future.
Since the share link doesn’t require logging in to Later, clients or team members provided with the link will be able to view it even if they aren’t a user on your Later account.
Here’s an example of a share link preview:

Calendar Notes
Calendar Notes can be used for ideas, reminders, and placeholders before a post is ready to be scheduled. They take up the equivalent of a 1-hour time slot in the Calendar, and are visible across all social profiles within that Access Group. Think of them like virtual Post-it notes!
Here’s an example of how Calendar Notes appear:

Media Notes
In addition to adding notes to your Calendar, you can also add notes to individual photos and videos in your Media Library. These notes can be used to draft captions, communicate content guidelines, leave reminders for teammates, and more.

Can I have a free trial or demo of Later?
Yes! We offer a 14-day free trial for all Later plans, including Scale plans. You can sign up here for the Scale plan best suited for you or your agency’s needs.
For a demo, we recommend checking out our Later for Agencies webinar! There are also several other available on-demand product training webinars that focus on different topics based on your use case.
Can I customize the number of Social Sets & users on my Scale plan?
Yes, you can add and remove users and Social Sets from your Scale plan. The only thing you can’t do is decrease the number of users or Social Sets below the base amount that your plan comes with—instead, please reach out to our team about downgrading your plan. What if I want to downgrade my plan?
You can switch between the Scale 15 and Scale 30 plans at any time (here’s how), as well as add or remove extra Social Sets and users. Downgrades will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and the cost of any upgrades is prorated.
